Warrington Pipe Band has been an established part of the Warrington scene for a long time, playing for parades and functions throughout the area and making a considerable mark on the pipe band competition scene over a long period.
The present Pipe Major is Bernie Leigh, who has been an active member of the band for many years and who brings a great deal of experience to the job.
At present the band practises on two nights per week throughout the year. On Monday evenings the session is devoted mainly to rehearsal on practice chanters and drum pads, though later in the evening there may also be a final session on the full instruments.
The Wednesday session is usually a full band practice on the floor with pipes and drums.
Monday sessions are held at the Padgate Youth & Community Centre, Station Road S, Padgate, Warrington.
The Wednesday sessions are held at the Peninsula Barracks, O'Leary Street, Warrington WA2 7QS.
